Silicon Valley leaped back to the top of a list of “best-performing cities” put out by the Milken Institute. The cumbersomely named San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara area hasn’t taken the top spot since 2001.
Other technology centers also did well, places like Austin, Texas, Raleigh, N.C., Cambridge, Mass., Salt Lake City and the District of Columbia.
“Designing and producing communications and computing devices, and serving companies and consumers online, were good businesses to be in,” the think tank said in its annual report about how cities are doing.
