The jobs, wage, and establishment data has been updated through the latest, 2016:Q1 data from the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW), through a special data run by the state Employment Development Department. This data is location based, providing information on the number and types of jobs and establishments operating within each district, and is provided for the Congressional, Senate, and Assembly Districts.
As the nation’s second largest city, Los Angeles has a vibrant culture, a diverse
population and a strong economy. The city is not only the largest entertainment
capital in the world, but also the nation’s largest manufacturing center and retail
market, a major tourist destination and financial center, and home to one of the
world's busiest ports.

The Governor announced today that California has grown 1 million jobs since 2010. This is a significant and long awaited accomplishment for those who have suffered economically over the past 6 years.
