Fashion retailer Jeremy’s will close entirely after permitting delays scuttle Oakland store

Longtime Bay Area retailer Jeremy’s has withdrawn plans for a store in Oakland and will instead shut down entirely, after saying permitting delays had made it unable to open the new location in time for Black Friday.

The East Bay Times reports that owner Jeremy Kidson said in an email newsletter that plans to open the Oakland location in the the historic First Church of Christ Scientist are now being scuttled. Kidson said he had “encountered five months of maddening delays” and said he will now close the store for good on Nov. 20.
