Want to grow your business locally? Want to move an out-of-state company to California?
You can be paid to do it.
Gov. Jerry Brown’s California Competes program has allocated some $200 million in tax credits in fiscal 2016 for companies to expand in or relocate to California.
State officials will offer one-hour workshops on how to apply for the credits from July 14 to Aug. 7 in Tustin, Murrieta, Redlands, Torrance, San Diego and more than a dozen other cities statewide.
The free program is open to small, medium and large businesses. Beginning July 20, companies can apply online at calcompetes.ca.gov, a website that also offers an application guide and other technical documents.
