Cargo volumes at Port of Los Angeles fell off during the month of July, and exports registered a significant decline.
Overall cargo volumes at the Port of Los Angeles declined 2.5 percent on a year-over-year basis last month to more than 699,000 standard container units.
Imports to the Port of Los Angeles declined 3.5 percent year-over-year to nearly 351,000 container units. Exports plummeted 16 percent to about 136,000 container units.
The number of empty containers being shipped through Port of Los Angeles facilities rose 11 percent to roughly 212,000 units.
For the first seven months of this year, total cargo volumes at Port of Los Angeles are 3.5 less than what was recorded during the same period last year.View Article
